THE Shenzhen Metro, for the fourth time in a year after becoming operational, raises the train speed by shortening the waiting time for subway trains today (Dec 28).
The interval between two trains has been reduced to five minutes from six minutes during rush hours, and to seven minutes from eight during other times.
The Metro operates from 6: 30 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily, with the hours extended to midnight on holidays. It has the longest operating hours among subway trains in the country.
When the Metro first opened, passengers had to wait 15 minutes for a train.
