New airport ready to take off
Latest Updated by 2004-03-15 10:21:03

Experts and engineers from the government carried out a thorough examination of the new Guangzhou Airport's flying zone from Tuesday to Thursday. Test results show that the airport meets the requirements and is waiting for the state's final test. The airport has two runways of 3,800 and 3,600 meters, two parallel taxiways, and a parking apron with the total area of 7.2 million square meters. The airport will have its second time test flight in late March and will pass the state's examination at the end of April. It is expected to open to the first passengers at the end of June.
