ROADS leading to Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport were opened Tuesday after nine months of reconstruction, the Daily Sunshine reported Wednesday.
The reconstruction project is designed to ease traffic jams on the airport's surrounding roads, Guangzhou-Shenzhen Expressway and National Road 107, which resulted in difficulties getting to and from the airport.
The project focused on diverting airport-bound traffic from other traffic routes to make it easier for passengers to reach the airport with the installation of bridges and expansion of parking lots.
The airport said it had erected signs to direct airport traffic. Intending travelers are advised to arrive at the airport as early as possible as a 20-percent increase in the number of passengers is expected during the festival rush this year compared with last year.
The airport called on vehicles not traveling to the airport to use National Road 107 to ease traffic congestion on airport roads.
