Guangzhou mayor Zhang Guangning said that the new Guangzhou airport has been approved to run 24-hour customs service.
After opening the new airport, Guangzhou will apply for visa-free passage for foreign travelers who are in transit for 48 hours.
Zhang Guangning revealed this information while meeting Patrick Alexandre, the executive vice-president in charge of international business for Air France, at the opening of Guangzhou-Paris routes.
Alexandre said Air France is proud to be the first airline to run direct routes between Guangzhou and Paris, and he is sure that the new Guangzhou airport's excellent facilities and China Southern wide network are guarantees for successful business on the Guangzhou-Paris route.
