GUANGZHOU'S new Baiyun airport will open June 29 next year, the Southern Metropolitan News reported Thursday.
The old airport will close on the night of June 28 after operating for more than 70 years. Baiyun airport in Huadu District will start operating on the morning of June 29.
Staff will start a trial run at the new airport early next year without affecting operations at the old airport. As well as the transfer, the airport is faced with drawing up a development strategy and reallocating resources.
