The photo taken on June 17, 2005 shows the beautiful scenery of the Kanasi Nature Reserve, 150 kilometers north of Burqin in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. Transportation: Take a coach from Urumuqi to Aletai or Buerjin (80 yuan/person), then rent a jeep for the journey to Hanasi Lake. Or rent an vehicle in Urumuqi, a 3-day rent will cost 700-1500 yuan.

Accommodation: Villa Hanasi (Hanasi Shanzhuang) is perhaps the best hotel there. Log cabins near the lake are lovely. There are also a few inns and tents in the Hanasi village, but most of them do not have washing rooms.
