Jiangsu Province will stage a TV talk show on sex issues, in which the anonymity of guests is preserved by each wearing a mask, reports the Modern Express.
Claiming to be the mainland's first such show "in the real sense," as opposed to other educationally orientated programmes, it will touch on sensitive issues such as sexual phobias and harassment.
By allowing guests to remain anonymous behind masks, the producers hope this will relax inhibitions and allow them more freely to tell their true stories, which may be helpful for audiences.
The producers, however, have vowed to prevent the programme from become mere titillation or gratuitously provocative. A TV critic is hailing the show a huge progressive move by Chinese television media.
