In the past year, Guangdong had made effort to build itself culturally strong. The province have hosted several state-level cultural activities: "Eternal Melody concert in Guangdong" featuring many famous signers in the nation,  "The Voice of China Concert" on which leading singers of eight dialects of Chinese opera gave a joint performance, the Seventh Asia Arts Festival, Golden Bell Awards and China International Audio and Video Fair. The province also organized the first Guangdong International tourism and culture festival, "The Voice of Xinghai Concert" and South China book festival.
