The Guangzhou Blood Center has collected 1.54-million-millilitres of blood from 7,700 donators over the seven-day holiday, up 4,000 donations over the same period last year and establishing a new record in holiday blood donations.
Because of the unexpected donation increases, the Guangzhou Blood Center added more staff at its collection points and extended its hours of operation by three to five hours per day during the holiday.
