A jubilant and festive atmosphere will arrive at the Fifth China International Landscape and Floral Exposition Park ahead of the Spring Festival, as the First Spring Festival Arts and Culture Celebrations will begin Feb. 5 and run until March 8.

"Exhibiting migrant culture and tasting the oriental art" is the central theme of the festival, which is jointly sponsored by the organizing committee of the Shenzhen International Culture Industry Fair and the Fifth China International Landscape and Floral Exposition Park. The organizers say they are trying to create a new mecca of tourism, culture, leisure and entertainment for migrants who plan to spend the Spring Festival in Shenzhen.

Four stages will be erected during the festival to give visitors about 20 performances each day. Song and dance performances, cross talks, which is a Chinese genre of comic debate usually between just two people, short sketches, acrobatics and traditional Chinese theatrics will be on the menu. However, there are two draw cards that will surely provide lots of eye candy; Sichuan's famous Zigong lantern show and a water screen movie.

In addition, visitors will also have the chance to participate in some activities, including a spot-on photography contest for those who are capturing special moments of the festival with their cameras.

The festival will also be prepared for the children. A simulated Disneyland will transport little visitors into a fairytale world. They are also expected to take part in some painting and singing competitions.
