Beginning of Autumn         August 7 ~ August 22
It is the first solar term of autumn. It indicates the sweltering summer days are to end, and cool and comfortable weather will come. It is a time of harvest, first rice crops fill the granary. And the planting of second crop shall be finished around this period. Otherwise, the crop may suffer from cold.

Post Heat (End of Heat)        August 23 ~ September 7
It is the second solar term of autumn. It indicates that summer is really over. But it is still very hot. During this season, the crops are under the thread of typhoon.

White Dew        September 8 ~ September 22
It is the third solar term of autumn. In this period, it is cool at night and water vapor condenses to liquid water. You can find many dews on the ground and leaves at dawn. As autumn is represented by the color 'white', people call the term 'white dew'.

During this period, the second rice crop is going to have ear. Dews will provide plenty of water for their growth.

Autumnal Equinox          September 23 ~ October 7
It is the fourth solar term of autumn. On the first day of Autumnal Equinox the Sun rises exactly in the east, travels through the sky for 12 hours and sets exactly in the west, just like the Spring Equinox. After the Autumnal Equinox, in the northern hemisphere, the Sun still continues to follow a lower and lower path through the sky, with the days growing shorter and shorter, until it reaches it lowest point in the sky on the Winter Solstice. In the southern hemisphere, spring and autumnal equinoxes are exchanged.
Farmers smile while they walk through the field of golden grain.
 
Chill Dew (Cold Dew)         October 8 ~ October 22
It is the fifth solar term of autumn. In this late autumnal period, you will feel a bit of cold when touching the dew. The summer heat disappears and the winter cold is yet to come. It is said to be the period people feel most comfortable.
Rice begins to ripe during this period. Farmers began to plant winter crops.
 
Frost Drop (Frost's Descent)        October 23 ~ November 6
It is the last solar term of autumn. In this period, the mercury continue to drop and the water vapor condenses to dews or even frost at night and dawn.
Rice is ripe in the period.
