As the bad weather continues unabated, the Labor Guarantee Department at all levels in Guangdong Province has made great headway in persuading migrant workers to observe the Spring Festival in Guangdong. As of 4:00 p.m. on January, the number of workers planning to return to their family homes has dwindled to 30.41% thanks to the persuasion efforts carried out in different places. An additional 760,000 people will stay for the Spring Festival. It is forecast to further reduce the numbers of migrant workers who plan to go home as persuasion efforts intensify.

Guangzhou and other places in the Zhujiang River Delta have also rolled out multiple measures to let migrant workers stay at ease. The Guangzhou Labor Guarantee Bureau has allocated RMB 1.55 million for entertainment for them. The Union Labor, Culture and Youth League Department has also organized migrant workers to get involved into recreation activities and carry out preferential tickets to scenic spots so as to diversify the life of those who choose to stay.
