Eight couples, all serving in China‘s Northeast Shenyang Military Area Command, held a collective marriage ceremony in the east Chinese coastal city of Daling, July 1, 2003. The couples chose the birthday of the Chinese Communist Party for the ceremony after having postponed the event for two months to assist at Beijing’s Xiaotangshang Hospital during the SARS period.
