The Guangdong Health Department at 1 PM yesterday said that 13 new SARS cases were reported in Guangdong, 11 in Guangzhou, 1 in Jiangmen and 1 in Zhaoqing.
Five people were released from the hospital upon recovery and no deaths were reported.
There were 38 suspected cases yesterday.
By yesterday, the total number of confirmed SARS cases in Guangdong was 1,478, with1,256 patients recovered and 55 dead. There are 403 suspected cases.
