Following are the latest statistics from China's Ministry of Health on severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) on China's mainland:
On April 16, the cumulative number of SARS cases rose to 1,457 after 12 new cases were reported, among which nine were in south China's Guangdong Province, one in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region in the north and one in Sichuan Province in the southwest.
Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region in northwest China reported its first SARS case on Wednesday.
Fatalities from SARS remained unchanged, which was 65.
Meanwhile, eight patients in Guangdong were discharged from hospital, adding the total recoveries to 1,107.
