The First Pan-Pearl River Delta Media Forum opened in Foshan last Saturday (Jul 24). The forum was initiated by the Nanfang Daily and received a positive response from its counterparts in the region.
11 newspapers attended the event including Fujian Daily, Jiangxi Daily, Hunan Daily, Nanfang Daily, Guangxi Daily, Hainan Daily, Sichuan Daily, Guizhou Daily, Yunnan Daily, Hong Kong Wen Wei Po Daily and Macao Daily.
Cai Dongshi, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Guangdong Committee, addressed the forum and stressed cooperation among mainstream media in the region.
The main target of this forum is to strengthen mutual cooperation and set a media platform to contribute to Pan-Pearl River Delta regional economic development.
The Pan-Pearl River Delta Media Forum will be held yearly and the 11 newspapers will host it in turn. Next year, the Sichuan Daily will organize the forum in Sichuan.
