The regional cooperation has become an international trend under the economic globalization. Through free flow of essential factors in production, resource sharing and being complementary to each other, the members seek common developments. These cooperation will upgrade the regional competitiveness.
In China, Yangzi River Delta, Bohai Bay Belt and Pearl River Delta are three leading economic hubs experiencing continuous expansion and strengthening radiation. Another spotlight has it that the implementation of CEPA greatly promotes the economic integration between mainland and Hong Kong, Macao. At the same time the cross-border cooperation also experiences great progress as the 'Sino-ASEAN free trade zone' is under planning. These progresses all provide positive promote and favorable opportunities for us to accelerate the economic cooperation in the Pan-Pearl River Delta.
Pan Pearl river Delta members all have their unique resources and have high complementary potentials. The 'One country, two system' and CEPA adds to the charm of the regional cooperation. Many entrepreneurs have showed their interest in exploring the emerging economic region.
Macao has been an open city with service industry as the mainstay industry. Macao will like to take tourism sector as the privileged facet in regional cooperation. Ho express his confidence in the building up of excellent tourism brands for PPRD tourism.
Ho says, taking advantage of well-built international relationships and implementation of CEPA, Macao is speeding up the construction of regional trading platforms, which will help the SMEs from Portuguese-speaking countries, Euro countries and mainland establish business relationships. One thing that is worthy mentioning is many foreign enterprises will like to set up cross-region industrial areas in Macao and Guangdong, which may greatly affect the quota system in textile and garment of the world.
At the end of his speech, Ho manifest that Macao SAR will exert greatest effort in promoting PPRD regional cooperation.
