Guangzhou New Central Axis Square was officially named Huacheng Square. Located south of the Huangpu Dadao Avenue, east of Huaxia Lu, west of Xiancun Lu and north of Linjiang Dadao Avenue, Huacheng Square expands to 250 meters at its widest section, covering the total land area of around 560,000 square meters, which is 8-10 times the size of the People’s Park of the city, thus called the city’s reception hall and the biggest citizen square of Guangzhou.

According to the design plan of the area, there will be 39 buildings, and 8 of which including Guangzhou No.2 Children’s Palace, Guangzhou Opera House, Guangzhou Library and Guangdong Museum have been constructed and opened to the public. In the Huacheng Square, whose construction has been finished, there is a man-made scenic lake view area, a large scale fountain, a lighting square, an artificial fog cooling system as well as over 600 large trees.

In the north of the square, there are five flower islands, including three sakura islands and two peach blossom islands. The flowers, together with green willows as well as a large variety of vegetation, create beautiful scenery of red flowers and green willows, which helps promote Guangzhou’s name as city of flowers. The place will be turned into the city’s largest flower exhibition area both in size and varieties, which boasts the most beautiful patterns of flowers and most unique attraction for flower appreciation. There will be flowers all seasons along, which compete for splendor, boosting the image of the Flower City.
