Guangdong needs to strengthen its training of accounting staffs, says Mr. James S Turley, chair of Ernst & Young America, when receiving an interview with www.southcn.com (Chinese version for www.newsgd.com) and the Guangdong Radio on November 2nd, 2003.
He also expresses that Ernst & Young International has been thinking of increasing its investment in China in the next three years.
Q & A in the interview:
Reporter (R): What advices and projects do you bring to Guangdong this time?
Turley (T): Ernst & Young International is willing to share with enterprises in Guangdong our experience and research achievement.
R: After China's entry into the WTO, more foreign enterprises are allowed to develop their financing business in China. Will Ernst & Young think of expanding its services of financing and accounting in Guangdong?
T: We think China's entry into the WTO will promote the development of financing and accounting, and we will grow our investment in China in the next three years.
R: China keeps upgrading its accounting standards to keep up with the international ones. What do you think of China's reform on accounting standards?
T: The development of accounting in China is satisfactory and we will continue to strengthen our cooperation with China in accounting sector.
R: Could you give some advices for Guangdong in this aspect?
T: I think Guangdong needs to be more internationalized in this sector and should also conduct more training of accounting staffs.
