By 2010, the city will form a traffic network with the new airport, four railway stations, 10 expressways and 16 urban quick roads as framework. In 2005, the number of international flight lines to Guangzhou will reach 40. In 2010, the passenger transportation capacity of railways in the Pearl River Delta with Guangzhou at the center will be enhanced several times over so that all the 9 major cities in the Great Pearl River Delta, together with Hong Kong and Macao, lie with in a one-hour travel distance from each other.
In 2010, the urban roads network of Guangzhou will also become unblocked.
The Inner Ring Road, Outer Ring Road and expressways will constitute the quick road network of the city to enable an average drive speed of 80km/h.The total operation mileage of metro will exceed 200 km and a seamless connection will be in place for metro, buses and taxis.
Unblocked traffic will keep the gate of Guangzhou wide open so that the city can welcome friends from all over the world within comparable warmth.
