The 'Success Asia' Guangzhou Photo Exhibition has its opening ceremony at the Guangzhou Museum of Art today (May 9th), in an effort to boost Guangzhou's bid for the Asian Games.
The photos in the show, taken by Guangzhou photographers, display 26 Asian countries and regions with five different themes: historical civilization, ecological environment, cultures and customs, modern metropolises, and finally, the night of Asia.
Photographers of Guangzhou travel around Asia, from the old Gorges River to the modern Victoria Harbor, capturing the beauty in life such as the red leaves at the foot of the Great Wall, the cherry blossoms and white snow at the bottom of Fuji Mountain by their cameras, with an aim to apprehend the legend of Asia, its beauty and invigoration through lens.
Through the show, people will have a clear picture of Asia's great progress and development in society, technology and wealth as well as the openness and growth of the different social humanities.
This photo exhibition is actually a review of " travel in Asia" by Guangzhou photographers. Some 200 works in five parts will bring you to the depth of Asia's history and tradition as well as to the forefront of her development.
As a bid city for Asian Games, it's quite meaningful for Guangzhou to hold this kind of exhibition, showing its clear understandings of culture and civilization of Asia, and its resolve and effort to keep and protect it.
Sponsored by Guangzhou Association of Cultural Exchanges with Foreign Countries and Government News Office of Guangzhou, the exhibition will last for one week till May 16th.
