Some 12,000 citizens took part in a four-kilometer marathon on April 10 to boost Guangzhou's Asian Games bid.
Guangzhou, capital of South China's Guangdong Province, will be approved to host the 2010 Asian Games, releases the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) Monday (April 19th).
Mr. Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad Al-Sabah, president of the OCA, expresses in a proclaim that the official announcement would be made at the OCA's General Assembly in Doha, the capital of Qatar, on July 1.
OCA makes the decision after its 5-member delegation finished a satisfactory evaluation tour in Guangzhou from Apr. 14th to 16th.
After Kuala Lumpur, capital of Malaysia withdraws from the bid the other day due to the lacking of governmental support, Guangzhou becomes the only bidding city for this session of Asiad.
