Guangzhou is well established with more than 10 thousand sports facilities, including more than 50 advanced stadiums and gymnasiums, like Olympic Sports Centre, Tianhe Sports Centre and New Guangzhou Gymnasium. With its sports facilities covering a total area of 20 million square metres, Guangzhou have the capacity to meet the needs of hosting more than 30 Asian Games sports.


 Launched in 2001, New Guangzhou Gymnasium ever hosted the closing ceremony of  9th National Games in 2001.
