A delegation representing Guangzhou's bid for the 2010 Asian Games visited the South Asian Federation (SAF) Games held in Islamabad, Pakistan, from March 27th to 29th. The delegation was led by Guangdong Vice Governor Xu Deli and Guangzhou Vice Mayor Li Zhuobin. The purpose of the visit was to introduce Guangzhou's bid for Asian games, and get some experience about how to host an international sports tournament. During the visit, Xu Deli met with the president of the Pakistani Olympic Association, Lt General Syed Arif Hassan, and officials of the Olympic Committees of India, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Afghanistan and other South Asian countries. These officials express their good wishes that Guangzhou would succeed in hosting the 2010 Asian Games.
