Led by Xu Deli, Vice Governor of Guangdong Province, the Guangzhou Asian Games bid delegation today (March 27) starts its promotion tour around Asia, and will officially submit the bid report to Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) in Kuwait at 28th this month.
Realizing that the bid report is the direct way through which members of OCA get to know the bid city, as well as the best chance for the bid city to promote itself, Guangzhou attaches great importance in the preparation of the report and will fully demonstrate in it the 23 issues raised by OCA.
The English version of the bid report was finalized this morning. The report, printed on 332 pages, includes the national and international characteristics of the applying city, customs and entry procedures, weather conditions and the environmental situation.
The host city will result from the 44 members' votes at the coming meeting of July 1 held by OCA in Doha. Only cities that render their bid reports by 31st this month will be ranked among the bid cities, according to the rules set by OCA.
Given the current scenario -- Seoul's quit from the bid and that Kuala Lumpur and Amman's having not filed their bid reports yet -- it's still left unknown as how many rivals Guangzhou is going to face in the bid competition.
