Press Conference for Intellectual Property Protection in Guangdong in 2003
In 2003, the People's Government of Guangdong Province continued strengthening protection for intellectual property rights (called IPR or IP), says Li Zhongduo, Director of Office of Intellectual Property Protection of the People's government of Guangdong Province on Apr. 26.
Li mentions that a series of cooperation programs was initiated in 2003 with the signing of the Chinese Economic Closer Partnership Arrangement (CEPA), the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Online IPR Datebase built and opened for public use, the "No Fakes Pledge" movement promoted in Guangdong and Hong Kong, etc.
According to Li, the protection for IPR cooperation among Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao is in the initial stage, and they will keep communication and get more understanding from each other.

"Copyright Knowledge: Questions and Answers" emphasizes on promoting the public awareness of IPR, and 30,000 copies will be present to writers, schools, government, related industries and a large number of readers, says Liao Xiaomian, Deputy Director of Copyright Bureau of Guangdong Province.
