The first made-in-China Toyota Camry met the public again yesterday morning (May 23) after Toyota Guangzhou's first Camry came off the production line.

Prices for the five types of Camry were announced from 197,800 yuan to 269,800 yuan, much lower than market expectations. Executive vice manager of Toyota Guangzhou Yuan Zhongrong said the company is very confident in the market response and expects to sell 50,000 to 60,000 Camry's this year. Next year's sales target will be increased to 140,000.

Camry, the best-selling model in the United States, has been the number one selling car in United States eight times over the past nine years. The Camry launched by Toyota Guangzhou is from the sixth generation that just hit markets in the United States a few months ago.
