Today is the last day when the Gotheborg will be open to the public. By 9:30 in the morning, all 5,000 tickets for visiting the ship on the day had been snapped up by 20,000 queuing visitors. The group of visitors onboard the ship disembarked with great reluctance at 5:30 in the afternoon.
According to organizing committee officials, during the Gotheborg's stay in Guangzhou, more than 80,000 visitors came aboard the ship and over 350,000 people toured the G?theborg Expo Garden, which will be dismantled at 9 pm on August 15, upon the completion of its mission.
The officials said that the Gotheborg will continue to be moored at Zhoutouzui Wharf over the next two days and that visitors will be allowed onboard until August 15. The G?theborg is due to set sail for Huangpu on August 16 and leave Guangzhou for Shanghai on August 19 after a grand departure ceremony.
