2007: Build an Innovative Guangdong to Transform the Economic Development Pattern

Advisors' suggestion in this plenary included: to support and improve small and medium-sized enterprises' innovative capacity; to strengthen the protection of intellectual property rights; to develop vocational education and train innovative talents; to actively develop renewable energy such as wind power and solar power; to promote the introduction of technology and enhance international cooperation in R & D; and to encourage the financial institutes to expand investment in innovation projects.

Many advisors' organizations increased cooperation with Guangdong after the plenary, particularly in innovation and setting up R & D center, labs and new plants in the province. The plenary saw Guangdong's strong desire for service sector development as it had 6 advisors from this industry.
