Governor Huang Huahua met with Prof. Dr. Bullinger, President pf Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft

Executive Vice Governor Mr. Zhong Yangsheng met Mr. Tee Kiam Poon, President of BP China

Governor Huang Huahua and Executive Vice Governor Zhong Yangsheng respectively met with some of the advisors and observers who arrived in Guangzhou in advance at White Swan Hotel on Nov 15th. These five guests came from Fraunhofer-Gesellshaft, Honda Motor Co.Ltd, Nokia Corporation, BP Group and Canon Inc. Some of participants had the first experience to stay in the New Baiyun International Airport, and all of them have said that they felt the booming economic development in Guangdong when arriving.

The implementation of the "Golden Ideas" of GDICC 2003 remains the concern among the advisors and observers. In the meeting, Mr Huang Huahua introduced how those ideas have been implemented during these two years. He said, the suggestion about building the innovative network, made by Prof. Dr. Bullinger, has been adopted through the cooperation between Department of Science and Technology of Guangdong Province and South China University of Technology. And the idea, made by Mr. Hiroyuki Yoshino, Director of Honda Motor Co.,Ltd, about attracting the investment from the producers of Automobile components, as well as developing its brand names of Guangdong, has been adopted and make a remarkable progress.

Every advisor has submitted the advisory report and given many practical suggestions, which focused on the theme of this conference---Sustainable development. In the report of BP Group, three proposals have been pointed out: First, the sustainable economic growth needs the sustainable development of energy; Second, the development of clean energies should be introduced; Third, sustainable development should be realized in the law-making and law enforcement. For these high-quality reports, Mr Huang Huahua and Mr Zhong Yangsheng expressed their appreciation. After reading those reports, they believed that they suit very well to the real situation in Guangdong, and will be absorbed and adopted.

The meeting is friendly and effective. Mr Huanghua and Mr Zhong Yangsheng told to the advisors that Guangdong government hopes that the enterprises represented by the advisors can expand their investments in Guangdong, set up the research and development centers, and bring the advanced enterprises philosophy towards Guangdong. Mr. Zhong Yangsheng told to Mr. Masatoshi Aoki, Vice President of Canon (China) CO., Ltd, that "Canon has the corporate philosophy of symbiosis, which is similar with our idea of harmony. We shared the same concept of development. Guangdong is the largest economic provinces in China, which has a big consuming capacity as well. We hope the investment from Canon can increase as quickly as the striking development of Canon."

Governors also introduced the leaders of Committee of Development and Reform of Guangdong Province as well as other department leaders to the advisors and observers.

Taking this meeting as the opportunity of investment, Advisors also expressed their views. Mr.Tee Kiam Poon, President of BP China expressed that they will invest in Guangdong focusing on the Project of PTA in Zhuhai, oil refinery factory as well as Nansha oil factory. Meanwhile, BP hoped that Guangdong government will fight against the false oil products, protect the IPR of BP, and approve BP's expansion of marketing areas.

After the meeting, Mr Tee has exchanged personal card with the leaders of relative departments. Now that the enterprises represented by the advisors had gained the profit from the market in Guangdong, which has well-organized industrial structure and huge potential, the advisors expressed that their companies will pay great attention to Guangdong and root in Guangdong as usual. They will bring in the advance technology, management experience enterprise's philosophy when expanding the investment.
