Dr. Bullinger, one of Guangdong Governor Huang Huahua's advisors, said the technological innovation is the foundation in solving the problem existing in logistics and transportation sections. He said, in Germany, 2/3 of the innovative technology is directly from corporations; only 1/3 is from government's research.
Xie Mingquan, chief of the Provincial Science and Technology Department, said in the same conference that Guangdong is expected to clock an average annual GDP??growth of 9 percentage points in the coming five years, and the GDP of the year 2010 will double that of the year 2000. And logistics will be one of the main drives of Guangdong's economy in the future. The province needs to expand its logistics industry and improve the managerial and technological power of the sector.
The Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft has signed cooperative agreements with corporations in Guangdong province such as Shenzhen Huawei Technologies Co.,Ltd and Foshan Sanshan Logistics Park.
