Mid- and long-term goals for Guangdong to enhance the innovation ability are made in the working conference of enhancing Guangdong's independent innovation capacity this September, to mobilize the whole province to build an innovative province and sharpen the competitive edge.

To the year 2010, Guangdong province will strive to basically build up a regional independent innovation system which is fit the market economy and science and technology development rules. To 2020, the regional independent innovation ability to reach the average level of developed country, complete the work of building up "Innovative Guangdong" in the main.
