Defending champion China beat arch rival South Korea 77-53 here on Monday in the semifinals of the Doha Asian Games women's basketball tournament.
Four years ago, the Chinese women needed great efforts to hold off South Korea 80-76 in the final of the Busan Asian Games. Comparatively speaking, their victory on Monday was much more easier.
Opening with a 21-9 run, China steadily pulled away for the victory. At a time in the fourth quarter, the Asian champion improved to 68-40.
Chen Nan led China with 20 points and Sui Feifei added 13.
Japan and Chinese Taipei will clash in the other semifinal match later on Monday.
