China's Xu Xuan retained her Asiad title in the women's 10m running target here at the 15th Asiad on Monday.
Xu, collecting 194 points in the slow run and 192 points in the fast run, won by a 15-point advantage over the Kazakhstan's runner-up Natalya Gurova. Dang Hong Ha from Vietnam was third with 368 points.
"I was under great pressure because I am the only Chinese shooter in this event, and I came here without a coach," said Xu, the world record holder. "However, the result is good."
Xu, who led the first stage of 20 shots by three points, suffered a rifle trouble in the sighting time of the second stage.
"The bullet went out the bore immediately after I load the rifle," said Xu. "I was in a cold sweat at that time, because if this happened in the competition shots, the shot will be counted a zero.
"I was given five minutes to fix the rifle, but it was not enough, so I didn't do anything. I was so lucky that this never happened again."
As the running target is not an Olympic event, Xu has never had a chance to compete in the Olympic Games.
"I will wait for the event to enter the Olympic schedule," she said. "Although the chance is low, I never regret my decision to take part in this event."
There was no team medals awarded as there were only three teams.
