A platinum book entitled Deng's Speech in Southern China was issued in Shenzhen on Monday (Dec. 13).
The book is the first of its kind in the world, and was issued with a limited number of 26 copies in Shenzhen.
The book was sold at 26,000 yuan (US$3,140) and the number of copies has been limited to 1,000.
The timing of the book's publication is to mark the birth centenary of the late Chinese leader, Deng Xiaoping, as well as the 55th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.
Deng's speeches on his two trips in southern China in 1984 and 1992 are important documents of Marxism, which shape the drive of China and even the world's history and ushering the Chinese nation to a road of making the country strong and people rich.
The 8,000-character book was written in block letters by well-known calligraphers in China and engraved with laser technique.
Every book is made of 33-gram platinum and takes 45 days to produce. Theoretically, the copies can last for at least 10,000 years.
The copies are being displayed at the He Xiangning Gallery Museum.
