With a cold front due to reach the South China coast Thursday night, temperatures in Shenzhen will fall for a cool Christmas.
The minimum temperatures for Friday and Saturday will be around 15 degrees Celsius while the maximum will be around 20 degrees, according to Shenzhen Municipal Meteorological Observatory. "The days will be cool and comfortable for outings," an observatory spokeswoman said Thursday.
"The weather will add to the Christmas atmosphere," she said.
The weather would be similar in Hong Kong where minimum temperatures are usually a little higher.
"On sunny days, our maximum temperatures are a little bit higher than Hong Kong's, which are more influenced by the sea," she said.
The forecast for Christmas Eve in Shenzhen is cloudy with scattered rain with temperatures ranging from 16 to 22 degrees. Relative humidity will range from 60 to 85 percent.
On Christmas Day, temperatures will range from 15 to 21 degrees. Both days will be cloudy.
