Located in the south of China, Guangdong is the first province in China that open to the outside world. It is a place boasting local characteristic and long-history Lingnan culture. Lively and beautiful folk song and dance, touching and agile puppet performance, Nan-school "Kongfu" world famous for quick movement, and lion dance and paper cutting of unique style enjoy a long history and feature a deep root of folk culture.

Today, cherishing warm feelings towards the French people, artists from Guangdong are here in Cote d'Azur Region, together with them are their artistic creation in the new-era representing the splendor of culture and history of their hometown. We are here in a hope to further deepen our understanding of people in Cote d'Azur Region, and enhance the friendship with the people of Cote d'Azur Region through the bridge of culture and art.

In the near future, French artists will visit China as a return. On behalf of the People's Government of Guangdong Province, I wish Guangdong Culture Day a great success. Also, we are looking forward to the arrival of the artists of Cote d'Azur in Guangdong to present the luxury and richness of French culture and art.
