Nansha, the newly approved Free Trade Zone in the heart of Pearl River Delta, is seeking more cooperation with Hong Kong and Macao on traffic infrastructure construction.

"Nansha should cooperate with Hong Kong, Macao even other countries in the world on facilitating custom clearance, trade and auditing, etc. It is an important foundation for developing a good business environment," said by Chen Jianhua, Guangzhou mayor.

"The most important thing of Nansha is to push up development of traffic infrastructure, including 8 expressways, 2 metro lines, 20 railways and several bridges to build closer links between the zone and neighboring cities, Hong Kong as well as Macao" Chen said.

Nansha is only 25 sea miles from Hong Kong and Macao, at present, people can get to Hong Kong and Macao by ship in one hour. If the above-mentioned infrastructure completed, it can realize the term of “one-hour living ring” between Nansha together with Hong Kong and Macao. It means that people can go Hong Kong or Macao and back to Nansha within one hour. Such a convenience might attract increasing flows of passengers and business opportunities for Nansha.

In addition, Chen pointed out that Nansha would learn experience from Hong Kong and Macao, especially for regulations of operation, participation in International trade, etc.
