銆怗eneral Introduction銆

Situated along the costal area of southwest Guangdong, Yangjiang faces South China Sea in the south and is adjacent to Yunfu, Jiangmen and Maoming. It covers a land area of 7813 square kilometers and a water area of 10230 square kilometers. Its costal line stretches 341.5 kilometers with 40 islands and with a population of 2.677 million. Yangjiang exercises jurisdiction over 2 counties, 4 districts and is mandated to govern Yangchun City.
銆怘istory銆
Yangjiang was subject to the administration of Nanhai County in the Qin Dynasty and became a separate county in the Sui Dynasty. After 1949, Yangjiang and Yangchun were included in Jiangmen Central Guangdong Administrative Region. In 1988, Yangjiang officially became a municipality.
銆怑conomy銆
Yangjiang is a developing costal city focusing on 5 strategic fields: industry, tourism, agriculture, trade and education. Private economy has experienced rapid development. After years of development, it has built up unique industrial brands, covering scissors and knives making, food manufacturing, machinery, electric energy, convention and exhibition business.

Yangjiang has a well-developed traffic network. Passengers can easily travel to Guangzhou, Zhanjiang, Hong Kong and Macao by sea. Guang-Zhan Expressway, National Highway No. 325 and San-Mao Railway all run through the city from east to west.
