TAIWANESE companies, participating in the CHTF for the third consecutive time, are setting their sights on expanding their global presence through the fair.
Compared with previous exhibitions, this year's show features not only the classic products but also the latest high-tech gadgets from the Taiwan Top 10 Global Brands, a recently released list of Taiwan's most prominent companies.
The latest BenQ Windows mobile phone, the mountain bike once used by Olympic participants, the visual phone system already being used in the White House - all these are on the demonstration list during the exhibition.
"Following the global popularity of Japanese and South Korean electronic products, we shall create a Chinese brand craze in the world.
"The CHTF is a useful platform for us to enhance our global brand awareness," said Zeng Hanshou, head of the Taiwan delegation.
Zeng elaborated that the research and development capacity of Taiwanese manufacturers has reached quite a high level, but companies require a more bigger platform to promote their products, as Taiwan itself has a very small domestic market.
While talking about the effect of CHTF, BenQ's employees remembered last year's fair vividly.
"A foreigner felt very familiar with our logo at first sight of our products, as he once saw it last year. Our company was one of the sponsors of last year's Euro 2004," said Lu Chaofei, from the Shenzhen representative office of BenQ.
Horace Weng, the business operations director of BenQ, also disclosed that their sales revenue in Shenzhen increased by 90 percent last year, which was due in a big part to the company's participation at the fair.
Like BenQ, a lot of Taiwanese companies realize that the fair has become a golden opportunity to expand their brand influence and thus increase market share in the world.
