Huaiji County, which lies at the northern end of Zhaoqing, boasts green mountains and clear waters. Qiaotou Town in the southwest has many weirdly shaped karst caves, among which Swallow Rock is the largest. Swallow Rock is 66m high, 46m wide, and nearly 1 km long, with a total area of over 28,000 sq m. The Swallow Rock River that runs through the cave is 660m long. The huge and magnificent cave is home to the valuable swifts, which fly to the cave every spring from the islands in the South China Sea and build nests at the ceiling and cliffs and among rocks. Hence be given the name, Swallow Rock.
