Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Co.,Ltd.(MSI) was established in October 1918. Formed through a merger of Mitsui Marine and Fire Insurance Co.,Ltd. and Sumitomo Marine and Fire Insurance Co.,Ltd. in October 2001. MSI is one of the long established and leading companies in Japans non-life insurance industry. MSI was marked No.348 by Fortune Magazine 2005 and was marked No.13 in the world non-life insurance business. At March 31 2006, our paid-in capital has amounted to Japanese Yen 139,595 million(about US dollar 1,193 million at exchange rate@117)and total assets has amounted to Japanese Yen 9,011,652 million(about US dollar 77,022 million).Our net premiums in 2006 was Japanese Yen1,492,229 million(about US dollar 12,754 million)and was marked No.2 in Japan non-life insurance market. In addition, our Solvency Margin Ratio (Japan Statutory Basis) is 1,115.4% that exceeds the minimum required ratio of 200% by Japanese regulatory authorities.
  
  At the end of March 2007, MSI has about 15,000 employees, 729 sales branch offices, 256 claim-handling offices and approximately 59,000 agents in Japan.
  
  We are a property insurance company which has the largest sales network in Japan. Besides domestic business, Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance has established an overseas network consisting of 52 subsidiaries and affiliated companies covering 63 cities in 39 countries and district areas. Our global network has already covered major countries and areas in the world focus mainly in Asia. Premiums from overseas business accounts for 8% of company total premiums.
  
  Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance established its first representative office in Beijing in 1981 and it is one of the earliest foreign financial institutes stationed in China market. We established Guangzhou representative office in 1993, and it is also the first insurance company office amongst foreign insurer in the rapid growth of Guangdong Province. Furthermore, we set up the first branch office in Shanghai in 2001.
  
  Now, we have 1 branch office, 1 general representative office and 8 representative offices in China. We are one of the largest networks in China amongst the foreign insurance companies.
