ALSTOM China President

Mr. Alain F. Berger formally assumed the position of President of ALSTOM China in September 2003. Before coming to China, Mr. Berger's career life spanned the following positions:  

1999 until now - ALSTOM:

• Mr. Berger had been Senior Vice President, Commercial & Sales of Hydro Power Business of ALSTOM worldwide since early 2001
• Mr. Berger joined ALSTOM in July 1999, as Senior Vice President, International Operations, Latin America. 

1997 to 1999 - CAMPENON BERNARD SGE

Mr. Berger was the International Business Development Director of this company, which is dedicated to the civil engineering & construction of major infrastructure projects.

1985 to 1997 - CEGELEC (Alcatel Alsthom Group)

• '94-'97 Based in CEGELEC headquarters, Mr. Berger had been successively
                       Deputy Director then International Commercial Director of the Group
                        worldwide through direct subsidiaries,   sales offices and representatives.
• '85-'93    Mr. Berger had also served as a Marketing Vice President of CEGELEC's
                       subsidiaries in the USA.
• 1982 to 1985 Mr. Berger founded his own private company in the Dominican Republic
                         and assumed the CEO position.
• 1981 to 1982 Trade Attache at the French Embassy in Santo Domingo, Dominican
                         Republic.

Born in 1956, Mr. Berger graduated from H.E.C. and received his MBAs from McGrill University (Canada) and ESADE (Spain).  He is married and has 2 children.
