Deputy global vice chair ernst & young assurance and advisroy service
Pat is a member of Ernst & Young's Global Executive Committee for the Assurance and Advisory Business Services practices.
Pat is based in Hong Kong and provides leadership in the Asia/Pacific market of Ernst & Young. His principal area of focus is the development and implementation of strategy for the assurance and advisory services practices in a market area encompassing China, Korea, Japan, Hong Kong, Southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand. Pat promotes the global consistency of Ernst & Young's strategic initiatives around the imperatives of Quality, People and Growth.
Pat has been with Ernst & Young for almost 30 years and a partner for the past 17 years, serving in a variety of roles:
- Senior client service, advisory and technical review partner to large public companies, SEC registrants, multinational companies and privately owned businesses in a variety of industries.
- Health care industry leader and member of Ernst & Young's US Health Care Committee.
- Managing Partner in the Washington, D.C./Mid-Atlantic region of Ernst & Young's US assurance and advisory services practices.
- Participated in the development of the firm's global strategy for the assurance and advisory services practices.
- Partner in charge of human resources for the firm's Virginia, US offices.
- Provided clients with advisory business services involving debt restructurings, financings, feasibility studies, operational reviews and corporate reorganizations.
- Led the development of the Business and Technology Risk practices for the firm's US Mid-Atlantic region.
- Instructed various Ernst & Young training programs on assurance, quality, SOX 404, risk assessment and audit effectiveness.
- Regularly meets with clients regarding business risk identification and assessment and development of related programs.
Pat holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Old Dominion University and is a member of the American Institute of CPAs. He serves as a member of the Business Advisory Board of the University of Virginia McIntire School of Commerce.
