Phase II of 114th Canton Fair kicked off yesterday (Oct. 23) in Pazhou Complex in Guangzhou.

Consumer goods, home decoration and gifts are the themes for Phase II. Both the exhibitors and buyers are sensitive to price changes of these labor intensive goods.

According to Nanfang Daily, to stand out in the fierce competition, some manufacturers bring their innovative products, some upgraded their production lines, some come to the fair for new clients from emerging markets.

Guangdong Yinying Group representative Ms Liang said, the cost went up over 10 percent this year, however, the clients can only accept 5 percent price increase. They need to consume the margin, which bring pressures to the enterprises.

Some innovative products did win applause and orders in the fair. For example, a solar power tech company from Chengdu displays a solar power backpack, which can charge mobile phone or iPad. The multifunctional backpack won orders from South America, Africa, Belgium and Peru in the fair so far.
