During the Asian Games and Para Games from Nov. 11th to Dec. 20th, thirteen non-Asian-Games public sports venues were open free to Guangzhou citizens, with the number of entrants amounting to 320,000 people on a cumulative basis and the service time reaching 8,483 hours.

During the Games, the Guangzhou Sports Bureau formulated several plans concerning opening hours, reception capacity and security of all free-open venues. In those forty free-opening days, football, tennis and badminton venues were highly popular among Guangzhou citizens.

The Tianhe Natatorium has been thoroughly renovated after successfully holding the swimming and polo competitions during the Asian Games. From Jan. 1st on, this renovated natatorium will be open to the public, free of charge. It now boasts an improved water treatment system and higher water quality. In winter, water temperature is kept at above 26℃. It is a perfect place for citizens to enjoy swimming.

Between Jan. 15th and 20th, 2011, 150,000 citizens will be given an opportunity to have a free visit to eleven Asian Games venues. In the meanwhile, great effort is being made to open up more public sports facilities, so that the project to encourage mass exercise by citizens within the community will be further promoted.
