Traffic control will be implemented near all venues of the Second China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industry Fair (ICIF) from today until Sunday, the city's traffic police department said.
The Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center, which will serve as the main venue of the ICIF, has Fuhua Road 3 on the north, Binhe Thoroughfare on the south, Yitian Road on the west and Jintian Road on the east. Between 7:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. today, all four roads will be off-limits to vehicles without special permits issued by the ICIF organizers. During other time of the fair, only people with valid tickets to the venue can drive into the area.
More traffic police will patrol the area between Fuhua Road 2 and Binhe Thoroughfare, and between Xinzhou Road and Caitian Road to monitor vehicles. No vehicles will be allowed to stop or park on roads inside the area without permission.
For people taking buses to the venue, they can get off buses at stops on Fuhua Road 3. Taxis should enter the site from Yitian Road and leave through Jintian Road. Taxi drivers have also been asked to wait at designated places outside the venue for passengers.
The traffic police department suggested that drivers with no intention to enter the fair site should not drive into the area to avoid jams.
There are six parking lots in the area, providing space for about 2,000 vehicles. The department, however, advised visitors to take buses, instead of their own cars, to the fair site. Only two parking lots, one near Fuhua Road 2 and one beside Jintian Road, are available for vehicles without permits or tickets, providing parking space for about 300 vehicles.
The department said they would also implement traffic control near other venues of the fair, namely, Dafen Oil Painting Village, Shenzhen Curio World, Manjing Sino-Art Exhibition Center, Shuibei International Jewelry Trade Center, Yijing National Cartoon & Animation Industry Base and Artron Art Gallery. People who want to drive to these venues should follow police guidelines.
