A South Korean delegation will attend the Second China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industry Fair (ICIF) in May as observers, as part of preparations for a South Korean cultural fair to be held in October.
The culture department of South Korea told a Shenzhen delegation, which visited Seoul, capital of South Korea, last week, that it was planning a similar fair to promote South Korean culture in October and would send a team to observe the Shenzhen fair, the Shenzhen Special Zone Daily reported yesterday.
Led by Wang Jingsheng, head of the publicity department in Shenzhen, the delegation met South Korean officials, industry associations, animation enterprises, filmmakers, trade companies and other representatives from the cultural sector last week.
On Friday, an ICIF promotion meeting was held in a Chinese culture center in Seoul, where some South Korean entities inked agreements to participate in this year’s ICIF or the next one.
Suh Byoung-moon, president of the Korea Culture & Content Agency, said his institute would send a large-scale South Korean delegation to visit the ICIF next year to commemorate the 15th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
Huang Yanglue, chairman of the Shenzhen International Cultural Industry Fair Co. Ltd., and president of the Shenzhen Press Group, said there was plenty of room for cooperation between China and South Korea, especially in promoting the Asian culture around the world.
