Guangdong-based national political advisers head to Beijing for ‘two sessions’

The First Session of the 13th National Committee of CPPCC will kick off on March 3. Guangdong-based CPPCC members have prepared their proposals and started heading to Beijing yesterday on February 26.

The 13th National Committee of CPPCC consists of 2158 members, 64 of who are from Guangdong. The Guangdong-based CPPCC members are with different political and religious backgrounds, and come from various business sectors, such as education, technology, public welfare and etc.

To prepare their proposals, these CPPCC members have done a large amount of research and collected opinions from the public.

“It is our duty to propose for the national development and people’s livelihood,” said Zhu Zhengfu who has been a CPPCC member for three years. He has prepared 8 proposals, focusing on legal system construction.

Su Quanke, chief engineer of the HZMB Authority, said he would focus on infrastructure construction including the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge and Shenzhen-Zhongshan Cross River Channel, which would promote the economic development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Xu Hongfei, director of the Guangzhou Academy of Sculpture, said his would pay more attention to international exchanges and facilitate the Chinese culture to go global.

Other CPPCC members said they would focus on topics that are closely related to people’s livelihood, such as pollution control, food safety, education, medical care and retirement policy.
