Wen Jiabao was approved to be premier of China's State Council here Sunday morning, according to the result of a secret ballot by legislators at the ongoing session of the 11th National People's Congress.
Wen, born in 1942, has been Chinese premier since March 2003.
The sixth plenary meeting of the First Session of the 11th National People's Congress (NPC) is held at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, capital of China, March 16, 2008. The NPC session vote on the nomination of Chinese premier, and vice-chairpersons and members of the Central Military Commission of the People's Republic of China.
